I might have known it would be red. explores how the cinematic and televisual spectacle of Carrie’s menstruous monstrosity becomes scopophilic pleasure. The looping sequences place Carrie (Spacek, Bettis, Moretz) in a perpetual cycle of humiliation and embarrassment. Appropriated from Stephen King’s Carrie (De Palma, 1976; Carson, 2002; Peirce, 2013).
